This full-time, permanent position (subject to ongoing funding and satisfactory performance) supports the delivery of a diverse range of natural resource management projects across the Sarina Catchment, working closely with landholders, volunteers, community groups and project partners.
The Project Officer will assist with project planning, coordination, on-ground works, reporting and community engagement. This role suits someone with experience or qualifications in landcare or natural resource management, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Field Team Opportunity – Join Us in Restoring Nature! Are you passionate about the environment and eager to make a real impact? We’re on the lookout for a Field Officer to join our Sarina-based field team and, play an active role in protecting and restoring our local beaches, waterways, and wildlife habitats.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out revegetation activities: site preparation, planting, watering, fertilising, mulching, installing plant guards
- Undertake weed control using manual, mechanical, and chemical methods
- Perform minor machinery repairs and general equipment upkeep
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials and equipment
- Follow all Codes of Practice and Safe Operating Procedures, including toolbox talks, risk assessments, and record keeping
Skills & Abilities
- Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
- Experience in natural area restoration, revegetation, weed control, and plant ID
- Confident in the use and maintenance of hand tools and field equipment
- Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management, Horticulture or similar equivalent (or willingness to obtain)
- ACDC Licence (or willingness to obtain)
- Current driver’s licence
